In order to afford an opportunity for individuals and others to financially assist non-profit organizations within our community, the Fairfield County Foundation manages a variety of restricted and unrestricted funds. Restricted funds have specific directions, which were given at the time the fund was established, and the Board of Trustees may only approve grants in accordance to the donors’ direction. Unrestricted and field of interest funds may be used to respond to community grant applications.

The Fairfield County Foundation encourages 501(c)(3) nonprofits in the Fairfield County area to partner with the Foundation in meeting its mission and to apply for assistance through Foundation grants when appropriate. The partnering organization should be located in Fairfield County or be able to demonstrate that a significant number of people or clients served by the organization reside in Fairfield County.

Starting in 2022, the grant application process for unrestricted community grants will be fully online! Please be sure to review our guidelines and process prior to beginning the online grant application. 2024 GRANT CYCLE DEADLINES:

CYCLE 1:

·         Preliminary Grants: Due second Monday in January - January 8, 2024

·         Approval to submit full grant application emailed second week of January

·         Grant Application: Due second Monday in February- February 12, 2024

·         Grant Committee recommendation to Board of Trustees for approval- March 21, 2024

CYCLE 2:

·         Preliminary Grants: Due second Monday in May- May 13, 2024

·         Approval to submit full grant application emailed second week of May

·         Grant Application: Due second Monday in June- June 10, 2024

·         Grant Committee recommendations to Board of Trustees for approval- July 18, 2024

CYCLE 3:

·         Preliminary Grants: Due second Monday in September- September 9, 2024

·         Approval to submit full grant application emailed second week of September

·         Grant Application: Due second Monday in October- October 14, 2024
